Regional agency for northwest UK pushes into games

The northwest’s regional agency for the TV, film, radio and digital content industries, Northwest Vision and Media, has bolstered its games activity with the appointment of Enda Carey as head of games.

Carey, who previously worked for GAME as trade marketing manager, a brand manager at Sony Computer Entertainment and also MD of Telcogmaes, will spearhead its Northwest Vision and Media’s games and digital content department.

The official announcement of his appointment explained that “he will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy of support to games, interactive and digital content businesses throughout the Northwest to allow them to take full advantage of the opportunities around digital technology, internationalisation, intellectual property exploitation and the creation of Mediacity:UK in Salford”.

Northwest Vision and Media is funded by the UK Film Council, the Northwest Regional Development Agency, European Funds, Skillset, local, city and council authorities across the region.

Carey commented: “Having been based in Liverpool I know how creative the Northwest is and the opportunity to help nurture this talent within the Game and Digital industries is what attracted me to the role. Northwest Vision and Media recognises the tremendous prosperity and growth of the digital sector and together we want to show the industry’s big players what a great region this is.”
