Resident Evil 6 breaks Capcom records

Capcom’s latest survival horror adventure Resident Evil 6 has shipped 4.5m copies worldwide – more than any other title in the publisher’s history.

The series’ previous outing, 2009’s Resident Evil 5, shipped 4.4m copies, according to CVG.

Resident Evil 6 launched earlier this week – you can read more about it in our recent Game Of The Day piece. It has received mixed reviews.

Capcom hopes it will sell 7m copies by the end of the financial year (March 31st, 2013), which would make it the company’s biggest-selling game ever – a title currently held by SNES beat ’em up Street Fighter II with 6.3m sales.
