New studio Particle City to lead development on several titles using IP

Respawn partners with Nexon to bring Titanfall to mobile

Respawn Enteratinment has teamed up with South Korean publisher Nexon to bring multiple new Titanfall games to mobile and tablets.

The two companies have also invested in mobile studio Particle City, which will lead development on the titles. The developer was formed in LA by Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella and Larry Pacey.

As part of the deal, Nexon will exclusively publish several Titanfall games on mobile over the next few years. The first title is currently scheduled for release next year. It’s like the games will be free-to-play, given Nexon’s history with the business model.

Nexon has previously signed a deal with EA and Respawn to bring an online PC version of the title to Asia.

“Our partnership with Nexon is momentous for many reasons,” said Respawn CEO Vince Zampella.

“Nexon’s unrivalled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences. And with Particle City, we are closely collaborating to create all-new standalone games with original gameplay experiences that expand the Titanfall universe to players everywhere.”
