At Rs 39,990, the PlayStation 4 isn’t the cheapest game console out there, and while Sony India has advised retailers against offering straight up discounts on the console, that hasn’t stopped several stores from offering savings in other ways.
From clubbing console and game purchases, to gift vouchers, to cash back offers, here’s a list of retailers in India who are offering savings on PS4 preorders.
Flipkart isn’t offering any deals specific to the PS4, but the new console does fall under the retailer’s new cash back scheme. Those buying the PS4 using an HDFC credit card or debit card will receive as much as Rs 5,000 cash back, effectively lowering you’re PS4’s price to Rs 34,990.
Note: At the time of writing, Flipkart has suspended preorders, saying it received limited quantities from Sony.
Landmark has been one of the most aggressive retailers in India as far as PS4 preorders go, and it is also planning to conduct midnight launches in six cities across the country. As far as preorder offers go, you’ll have to pay Rs 1,499 payment up front, and for online preorders, Landmark is guaranteeing day-one dispatch, plus a Rs 500 voucher which can be used on future game purchases on its website.
Delhi-based games retailer Nextworld requires an upfront payment of Rs 2,999, with the rest payable at launch. To help sweeten the deal, it is offering a Rs 1,299 voucher on PS4 preorders, which can be used against the purchase of PS4 games and accessories on the website.
Snapdeal is the only retailer that is offering a straight discount on the PS4, if only by way of a promo code. Entering the code PROMOCODE-SONYPS4 at checkout gets you a straight Rs 1,000 off your purchase. Note that Snapdeal operates on a marketplace model and the PS4 listing on a site is by a third-party vendor (Game Universe), so it would be wise to clarify on delivery timelines and availability before placing your order.
While the Pune-based retailer and gaming lounge isn’t offering a straight-up discount on the console, there are savings to be had when you buy PS4 games or peripherals along with the console. The amount varies, so you’ll have to contact the retailer, either via or email or live chat on the website, to get a quote.
