RF Online drops subscription charges

Following the same pattern that it adopted with fellow PC MMO ArchLord, UK publisher Codemasters has dropped subscription charges from sci-fi online title RF Online,

Moving RF Online to free-to-play game marks yet another milestone for Codemasters Online and the wider industry,” Codemasters Online marketing director Ed Relf stated.

The free-to-play online model, which favours microtransactions to monthly subscription charges, is very prevalent in the East, and is becoming more popular with Western MMO publishers.
