Saralyn Smith announced as Devcom 2018’s final keynote speaker

Blizzard Entertainment’s Saralyn Smith has been announced as the final keynote speaker for the Devcom 2018 developer conference.

Devcom will take place on August 19th and 20th in Cologne, Germany, part of the run up to games event Gamescom, Europe’s biggest video game event.

Smith, who recently took on the role of executive producer for Blizzard’s annual gaming convention Blizzcon,leads a wave of speakers in devcoms latest speaker announcement, including Martine Spaans, Philomena Schwab, Siobhan Reddy and Kate Edwards.

Spaans has previous experience with Ubisoft and Spil Games, but has now launched her own mobile game label Tamalaki.com, and Spaans is an expert in casual game publishing for the mobile platform.

Meanwhile, Scwab is one of the biggest names in the Swiss gaming industry with her indie outfit Stray Fawn Studio, thanks to the success of their game Niche.

Reddy is a well known face in the UK space, as co-founder of LittleBigPlanet developers Media Molecule, who are are currently working on the eagerly anticipated Dreams title for PlayStation 4.

Finally, Edwards – formerly executive director of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) between 2012 and 2017 – will be giving a talk. Currently, Edwards serves as the founder of Geogrify, a consulting company that specialises in content culturalisation and the impact of cross-cultural information and globalisation on the information industry.
