Sega sponsors Rising Star prize at Games Media Awards 2015

Sega has signed up as a partner for this year’s Games Media Awards.

The publisher is sponsoring the Rising Star prize, which recognises the achievements of some of the newer gamers writers in the industry. Sega backed the category last year, too, which went to freelancer Kirk McKeand.

Sega is delighted to be sponsoring the Rising Star award once more at this year’s GMAs,” the firm’s PR manager Pete Oliver said.

Supporting this category, which represents the best and brightest new writers and content creators in the field of games journalism is a real honour for Sega and we would like to wish the best of luck to all the nominees in the Rising Star category, and all the other nominees on the night.”

The following journalists are the finalists for this year’s Rising Star:

Chris Bratt
Drew Gibson
Holly Nielsen
Joe Donnelly
Kate Gray
Laura Kate Dale
Philippa Warr
Ria Jenkins

This year’s Games Media Awards take place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom on October 14th, with new prizes for video leaders and mainstream writers.

Returning are all the core awards, which focus on writers, not the brands they work for or pay them – plus our audience voted prizes. These include the Players’ Choice (in association with Playfire) voted for by consumers, and the on-the-night vote of Journalists’ Journalist.
