WB Games to donate $3.50 of every purchase to the family through to December 31st, 2019

Shadow of War DLC character to raise money for developers family

Monolith Studios’ newest game, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, suffered a loss during production. Executive producer, Mike Forgey (known to those at the studio as ‘Forthog’) sadly passed away during the development of the new game to cancer.

With the game’s impending release, the studio decided they wanted to honour him and have created the Forthg Orc-Slayer character DLC. The new character will be available to download once the game is released on October 10th.

It’s not just being immortalised in the game that is the news here. Publisher, WB Games have said they will donate $3.50 of every sale of the DLC to the Forgey family. This will continue through until December 31st, 2019. The donations are only made from sales of the DLC in the US, with certain states being excluded.

The news followed the announcement trailer (embedded below) for the DLC which shows Forthog, modelled after Forgey, aiding the ranger, Talion, in battle.
