Snipperclips tops Nintendo’s Switch download chart for first half of 2017

Nintendo of Japan has released its top-selling Nintendo Switch eShop titles for the first half of 2017, and the UK-made Snipperclips has claimed the No.1 spot.

Nintendo didn’t release any exact download figures for its top 25 titles, but Snipperclips, SFB Games’ co-operative puzzle game, still managed to beat the Switch Edition of Minecraft, which came in at No.2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which claimed the No.3 spot.

As a launch title, Snipperclips had a headstart on Minecraft and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which came out in May and April respectively, but there’s still some considerable distance between Snipperclips and the rest of its launch day counterparts.

In the Top Ten, for instance, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild came in at No.5 (probably due to the large amount of space it eats up on the Switch’s internal storage), with ACA NeoGeo Metal Slug 3 following shortly behind at No.6, but the newly-released Arms beat 1-2-Switch to No.7, leaving Nintendo’s party game compilation title at No.8 while ACA NeoGeo The King of Fighters ’98 and Othello filled out No.9-10.
