Sold Out warns indies not to ignore traditional market

Publishing label Sold Out has told indies they shouldn’t ignore the opportunities that remain available in the traditional boxed market.

Further to a recent deal struck with Worms developer Team 17, Sold Out is now on the hunt for new indie development partners that it argues are missing on substantial revenues owing to the increased focus on purely digital publishing.

Digital publishing has proved a fertile ground for innovative, lean independent developers – but many are ignoring additional opportunities – which is leaving that cash on the table,” Sold Out sales director James Cato said.

Whilst the digital marketplace is undoubtedly convenient for indie developers, we’re able to very quickly and easily open up routes to traditional markets, reaching players who prefer to build physical collections – or those who remain fearful of purchasing online.”

Sold Out already has at least” seven new boxed titles scheduled for release before the end of the year, along with its existing digital plans.
