Sony to sell DeNA shares as part of operating profit plan

Sony will sell its shares in Japanese mobile company DeNA for a reported $438m.

A report from Reuters states the firm will sell the shares to financial services group Nomura Securities.

The company announced in February that, despite recent trends, it would finish its fiscal year with an operating profit. The sale’s profit will be posted in Sony’s Q4 financial report too, with both periods concluding at the end of the month.

Sony recently sold off some of its shares in medical service group M3 for $1.23bn, selling its Sony City Oski and New York HQ buildings for over $1bn each as well.
