Square Enix sees increase in six-month sales and profits

Square Enix has reported financial results for its most recent six-month stretch, with the publisher showing increases in both sales and profits for the period.

Square’s digital entertainment segment, which includes the firm’s video game division, grew 37.5 per cent year-over-year thanks to the performances of PC and mobile titles including Final Fantasy Record Keeper, Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light, and Schoolgirl Strikers.

MMO properties Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest were also highlighted for their favorable performances.”

Total net sales from April to September of this year were up 18.1 per cent, more than a $100m increase from the same period in 2014, while profits rose 28.5 per cent – up $13m compared to last year.

Square Enix currently projects full year sales and profits of $1.6bn and $89.5m, respectively.
