Steam on your TV: Valve launches Big Picture mode

Steam’s Big Picture mode has gone live, introducing a controller-friendly interface for use on TVs.

Big Picture mode introduces the Daisywheel typing tool to make typing via the controller more easy.

It also includes an updated Web browser that can be accessed while in a game, with controls and navigation optimised for controllers.

I doesn’t take much for Valve to start a Steam sale (not that we’re complaining), and to celebrate the launch of Big Picture, Steam is offering big savings on 40 controller-friendly games.

Included in the sale are games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Mark of the Ninja, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Limbo and Braid.
