Tesco’s Mark Burgess joins Game Retail

Tesco’s games buyer Mark Burgess has left the supermarket chain for specialist giant Game Retail.

Burgess joins the team as third party physical and digital content manager.

Burgess joined Tesco in 2009 as part of its renewed push into video games. He was previously employed by Woolworths and Zavvi distributor Entertainment UK before the company folded in 2008.

Burgess was also a member of the MCV?Retail Advisory Board for Tesco. He is being replaced on the Board by the supermarket’s games buying manager, and former HMV commercial director for games, Jonathan Hayes.
