Thieves swipe Benelux’s entire supply of Assassin’s Creed III on PC

There’s bad news for gamers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg who were hoping to buy Assassin’s Creed III on PC.

Thanks to the tiny size of Belgium and Luxembourg, the shipment of the SKU for all three countries was able to fit onto a single truck. That was stolen.

Kotaku reports that Ubisoft maintains the game’s launch week will not be affected as it will be able to source stock from elsewhere on the continent.

Those who pre-ordered the limited edition ‘Join or Die’ version of the game are out of luck, though, with the publisher saying that it cannot be remanufactured.

Ubisoft has blocked the serial numbers of all the stolen games, meaning those who acquire the copies will be unable to authenticate them online.

The PC version of Assassin’s Creed III was released in the UK today.
