Trade organisation gathering industry opinion on how relief should be implemented

Tiga surveying developers on games tax breaks

Games industry trade body Tiga is calling on developers to offer their opinions to the forthcoming games tax breaks with a new survey.

The organisation said it hopes that the survey would provide a clearer picture on the needs and wants of developers in the UK.

Questions include whether expenditure on bug fixing and maintenance pre-release or post-release should be available as part of the tax relief and if there should be a minimum threshold before a company can claim.

The results will be used as part of Tiga’s representation to the government.

"It is important that all developers make themselves heard, whether they attend our numerous cross-country sessions or not,” said Tiga CEO Richard Wilson.

“The survey enables them to air their views."
