'Free to play way to go on Android', says Spry Fox CEO

Triple Town 67% of iOS revenue on GooglePlay

Triple Town has made 67 percent as much on GooglePlay as it has on iOS, says Spry Fox CEO David Edery.

For Edry, this is proof the Android platform can be profitable to developers, especially if they go free to play.

"Confirms what I’d heard: f2p games are probably the way to go on Android," he wrote on Twitter.

"I think the myth that Android isn’t a profitable ecosystem really hurts developers. It frustrates me to see folks perpetuating it."

Triple Town reached the top of the charts on iOS, but Spry Fox has since become involved in a legal dispute with 6Waves Lolapps, who it accuses of copying the game for its Facebook game, Yeti Town.
