ORIGINAL STORY:

We now have the first casualty of the break-up between publishers NIS America and Atlus.

Atlus’ Dragon’s Crown – published in Europe by NIS America – is no longer available on the PSN Store.

NIS America’s European Twitter account says (below) that this is due to the fact its licence for the PS3 and Vita RPG had expired, and that the firm was forced to remove it.

Those who previously bought the title still have access to it, but it is no longer available to new customers.

It remains to be seen how this will affect Atlus’ other games distributed by NIS America in Europe – MCV has reached out to the former to see if any other titles are going to be affected.

In April, MCV revealed that NIS America had terminated its relationship with Atlus. At the time, CEO Takuro Yamashita said that this was due to it being increasingly difficult to work with Atlus after its acquisition by Sega.

The European branch of Sega has expressed interest in releasing Atlus games in the UK. The last Atlus title released in Europe by NIS America wasOdin Sphere: Leifthrasir, which debuted at No.23 in the UK charts last week.
