Woolies boss ousted

Trevor Bish-Jones, CEO for UK retailer Woolworths has left his position at the firm in what the retailer has described as an amicable split.

Richard North, chairman for Woolworths, said: The search for his successor is underway but in the meantime we are pleased that he has agreed to stay on for the next three months to ensure continuity.”

The surprise departure of Bish-Jones, which comes after six years in the position, follows a tough time for Woolworths, which has struggled recently and suffered a fall in sales. While entertainment sales have improved during Bish-Jones’ tenure, shares are at an all-time low.
