Writer Gaider leaves BioWare after 17 years

The scribe behind some of BioWare’s biggest RPG success stories has left the company after nearly two decades.

David Gaider joined the studio in 1999, designing for PC title Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. He went on to work on the beloved Star Wars spin-off Knights of the Old Republic and Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark – his first project as lead writer.

Gaider helped to shape the entire Dragon Age franchise, working from the series’ first instalment all the way up to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. He also penned tie-in comic series The Silent Grove.
