Xcom 2’s console arrival suffers slight delay

PC’s critical hit Xcom 2 has been pushed back a few weeks on PS4 and Xbox One.

The Firaxis action strategy outing had been due out on September 9th, but will now not arrive in the UK until September 30th. It hits the US slightly earlier on September 27th.

This short delay was necessary to ensure that the game is fully polished at launch and meets the team’s high standards for the critically acclaimed PC hit,” Take Two president Karl Slatoff told investors last night.

2K and Firaxis Games are excited to broaden the audience for this beloved series, and they will also continue to support the PC version of XCOM 2 with free and paid downloadable content.”

The game, which was released on PC in February, has an 88 rating on Metacritic, which also lists 11 separate 10/10s (or 100%s).
