Yakuza 6 heads west with March 2018 release date

Having released in Japan last year, PS4 exclusive Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will release in Europe and Americas next year, physically and digitally.

Sega’s new entry in the Yakuza franchise will hit shelves on March 20th, 2018 and is the most technologically advanced Yakuza title to date,” the announcement said.

Yakuza 6 will also get a collector’s edition – a first in the franchise history. The ‘After Hours Premium Edition’ will include an art book, two glasses, two ice stones and two coasters, packaged in a collectable box. There will also be a limited launch edition, which will feature the art book only. The price tag for these two editions (see pictures below) has not been revealed yet.

Yakuza 6 will be the final chapter” for main protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, though it’s not the end of the franchise, series director Toshihiro Nagoshiclarified earlier this year, as reported by Games Talk and translated by Gematsu.

Yakuza 6 debuted at No.1 in the Japanese charts when it launched back in December 2016 and shifted over 200k copies during its first week. Fans of the franchise who can’t wait until Yakuza 6 releases next year will be able to get their hands on Yakuza Kiwami later this month. This remake of the first entry in the franchise will hit shelves on August 29th.
