Yo-Kai Watch TV series set for April debut in UK

An animated series based on Japanese super brand Yo-Kai Watch will debut in over 100 countries in Europe and Africa in the coming months.

That’s according todistributorViz Media Europe, which has announced that the Yo-Kai Watch TV show will debut on April 23rd in the UK. In January, the company said that the show would be broadcasted this spring.

The 26 episodes of the first season of the Yo-Kai Watch TV series will be available in the UK on Cartoon Network, after being a hit in Japan and the US.

Created by Level-5 and released on 3DS in 2013, the first Yo-Kai Watch video game sold over 8m units in Japan and Viz Media Europe expects to make it as successful in the Western markets.

The first Yo-Kai Watch video game is coming to the UK, though no release date has been set for the title yet.

In Japan, three Yo-Kai Watch games have come to market. The second title in the series shifted 1.3m units in its first week alone in the region. Spin-off title Busters also sold 700,000 units in its launch week.
