New title CityVille to launch across continents

Zynga building ‘our most social game ever’

Casual games giant Zynga has revealed the next step in its plan to remain Facebook’s most lucrative games developer.

The agressively expanding outfit is to launch a public beta for its brand new title CityVille in the coming weeks, and says the game will be its first to recieve a global launch.

CityVille will be localised in five different languages – English, German, Italian, Spanish and French.

Zynga promises the game will be its largest and most interactive to date, and will for the first time boast 3D environments and characters. As usual it will boast a high level of cross-friend interactivity.

The game will be also be playable off-site from Facebook, but requires a Facebook Connect login.

“CityVille is where Monopoly meets Main Street,” CityVille general manager Sean Kelly stated.

“We are thrilled to bring the world our most social game to date – building on the best-of-breed gameplay that Zynga fine-tuned with FarmVille and FrontierVille.

“Instead of harvesting crops you’re harvesting your neighborhood, instead of clearing your friend’s frontier you’re working on a friend’s franchise. We hope players from around the world have as much fun playing CityVille as we had building it.”

The firm’s most popular title, FarmVille, boasts around 54.3m monthly users making it the largest social network game in the world. FrontierVille has around 28.3m monthly users.
