David Lee replaces outgoing Mark Vranesh

Zynga swoops for Best Buy exec as new CFO

Zynga has appointed Best Buy exec David Lee as its new chief financial and accounting officer.

He replaces the outgoing Mark Vranesh who will leave the company next month after handing over duties.

Lee will oversee accounting, corporate finance and investor relations, reporting directly to company CEO Don Mattrick.

The social gaming outfit’s new CFO and CAO had previously served as senior VP of enterprise finance for Best Buy, leading the company’s corporate strategy and financial planning. Prior to that he spent eight years at Del Monte Foods across finance and general management positions.

“David has a deep understanding of business management and a sharp financial acumen that will be invaluable to Zynga’s long term growth and success,” said Mattrick.

“He has a track record of fostering cultures of excellence and navigating business transformations through sound counsel and strategic planning. David is a seasoned financial executive whose two decades of experience will deepen our leadership capabilities and I am proud to welcome him to Zynga. I want to thank Mark for his numerous contributions to the company over the last six years and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
