Xbox 360 enjoys biggest week ever

Microsoft has recorded its best weekly sales in the history of the Xbox brand, selling just under 1m units in seven days.

More than 960,000 Xbox 360 units were sold in the US during the week of Black Friday (week ending Friday, November 25th), according to Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb.

Over 800,000 of these were sold within a 24-hour period.

During this week, more than 750,000 Kinect motion controllers were also sold in the U.S. This figure includes both bundled and standalone units.

"We have seen tremendous excitement from customers for our hot holiday gaming offers," said Best Buy’s SVP and GM of Home Entertainment Chris Homeister.

"Xbox 360 was among the best-sellers at Best Buy this Black Friday, and is a testament to the continued popularity of the gaming category this holiday."
