Disney appoints former Blizzard man as Marvel VP

Following its acquisition of Marvel in late 2009, Disney has placed a former Blizzard executive to head up its Marvel gaming strategy.

Bill Roper, the former VP of Blizzard North and CCO of MMO specialist Cryptic Studios, is to assume the role of vice president of the Marvel franchise.

He was also the founder of now-closed Hellgate London developer Flagship Studios.

"We are pleased to have Bill join our team,” Disney’s senior VP and GM Alex Seropian stated.

With 17 years of experience in the worldwide gaming industry, we are confident that Bill has the creative vision necessary to help guide the next wave of development and product for DIMG’s Marvel Games."
