UK studio continues rapid expansion with three new staff

Playground Games announces hires

Leamington Spa-based Playground Games has announced three new hires as the studio continues its recent expansion process.

Martin Connor, Scott Towne and Tomas Blaho have all joined the company from various international studios.

Connor will now work as a lead game designer at Playground, having previously served as lead multiplayer designer at Rockstar North and online director at Guerrilla Games.

“I’ve known Martin for many years and I’m delighted that he’s decided to join us at Playground. He brings great experience gained making world-beating video games,” said Playground design director Ralph Fulton.

Towne joins Playground as a senior game designer from Bravo Games in Seville. He has previously worked for EA Canada on the FIFA and SSX franchises.

“Scott has a great track record and will make a huge contribution at Playground as our project moves towards full production”, said Fulton.

Finally Blaho is now working at Playground as a senior rendering engineer. He comes to the studio from 2K Czech where he served as a senior graphics programmer.

“Tomas’ technical background is extremely impressive,” said Playground technical director Alan Roberts.

“His experience and knowledge are exactly what we are looking for to further strengthen our excellent rendering team.”
