Spyro flying to retail in October

Activision’s Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure will hit UK shelves on October 14th.

The multiformat game allows players to use toy figures which can transform into in-game characters via a bundled Portal of Power peripheral.

Both the game and the toy packs will be available to buy from day one. The title will be available on Wii, PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and 3DS and the toys will be cross-platform compatible. There are 12 characters to collect.

Activision also announced that Spider-Man: Edge of Time will be released on October 28th on DS, 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. On the same day Generator Rex will hit shelves – a game based on the popular kids TV series.

In addition to this, X-Men: Destiny will arrive on September 30th.

These games come ahead of Activision’s trump card – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – on November 8th. The previously released Call of Duty: Black Ops became the best-selling game of 2010.
