NCsoft profits up 33%

NCsoft’s profits are 41 billion Won (23.3m) for Q1 2011, a 33 per cent increase over Q4 2010.

However, year-on-year that marks a 30 per cent decrease.

In terms of sales, NCsoft generated 155 billion Won (87.9m), a two per cent decrease quarter-on-quarter and a year-on-year decline of seven per cent.

The firm’s MMO Lineage 2 grew quarter-over-quarter, but Lineage and Aion decreased due to ‘soft sales promotions.’

NCsoft’s business is still mostly made in Korea (65 per cent), with the US and European markets accounting for nine per cent of the firm’s business.

Aion was its most successful game of the quarter, accounting for almost half of the revenues, with Lineage and Lineage 2 making up the other half.

NCsoft’s sales topped 360m for its FY 2010. Guild Wars 2 is its big upcoming title.
