United Front sorry for canned True Crime

True Crime: Hong Kong developer United Front Games has apologised to consumers after Activision canned the game.

The Vancouver studio had been working on the upcoming True Crime multiformat action game which was officially announced in December 2009.

A statement on the developer’s website said: We are sorry we did not get a chance to complete this project with Activision, but we understand why. We are both committed to doing quality games and nothing less.

Maybe we will have a chance to work together in the future, but in the meantime we are setting our creative sights on a different horizon. You can keep up with the latest developments at United Front Games on our website.”

Yesterday Activision announced heavy cutbacks including 500 job losses. It also disbanded its Guitar Hero IP as well as cancelling True Crime: Hong Kong.
