Dundee East MP brands job loss risk 'frightening and massively disappointing'

MP Hosie: I’ll take tax break calls to Treasury

Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie has pledged to help drive the issue of games tax breaks back into the halls of Parliament.

New claims that the UK’s game dev workforce could contract by 24 per cent by 2015 were described by Housie as "frightening and massively disappointing".

Hosie, whose constituency inhabited hundreds of staff made redundant from the collapse of Realtime Worlds, said he will bring the issue to the Coalition Government in time for the next budget.

He told The Courier: "We are only a few short months from the Budget that gives the coalition government the chance to think again about targeted games tax relief and it is something I will be raising in the lead up to it."
