Trion Worlds establishes UK office

US developer and publisher Trion Worlds has kicked off 2011 with the opening of a UK office.

The MMO specialist’s new European headquarters will serve as a base of operations for ongoing global expansion as it bring its products to the UK.

The studio has cherry-picked key trade execs for foundation roles.

Former Capcom and OG International exec Claire Mercer joins as director of European sales. Rahim Attaba has been appointed senior brand manager for Europe, while former NCsoft community manager Sebastian Streiffert takes up the same role at Trion.

Finally, Overdog Group’s John Davis will act as marketing consultant. The publisher is still trying to fill other positions on the European team.

The new hires will initially be focused on the launch of Trion’s first game, MMO Rift which lands on March 4th. Ubisoft has been signed to launch the game in France, Germany and other key European markets.

Future Trion titles include MMORTS End of Nations and a joint MMO project with the Syfy Channel.
