JAPAN: Xbox 360 S sells 700

This week saw the launch of the slimmed-down Xbox 360 S in Japan, but figures from Media Create as reported by Spong show that the new console sold just 700 units, accounting for less than 20 per cent of total Xbox 360 hardware sales.

The best selling machine of the week was PSP with unit sales of 30,761. This was followed by PS3 (19,907), DSi LL (19.076), DSi (16,345), Wii (15,031) and DS Lite (4,328).

Aside from the DS Lite, the Xbox 360 was the only machine to see week-on-week sales growth, hitting 2,915, though the 700 Xbox 360 S sales managed to match even the PSPgo’s 809 unit sales.
