SONY: Virtua Tennis 4 gets Move, 3D support

Sega’s Virtua Tennis 4 will support both Move and 3D functionality on PS3, it has been confirmed at Cologne.

The use of the motion controller will allow for precise control of the angle of the racquet as well as the speed and spin of the shot.

It also becomes the latest core game to bolster Sony’s already impressive Move lineup. Other titles joining that list include shooter MAG, Time Crisis: Razing Storm and Toy Story 3.

Sega’s game, which is due out in 2011, will also offer 3D visuals and is an example where it’s easy to imagine how such support could offer a real gameplay boost.

Virtua Tennis 4 is a fantastic example of how our third party partners are seeing the potential not just in PlayStation Move, but also 3D,” senior VP of sales and marketing at SCEE said Simon Rutter stated.

The combination of both Move and 3D offers an entirely new gaming experience and one that has the potential to completely change how people interact with their entertainment. Virtua Tennis 4 shows how this technology can be implemented and we are very excited to be working with SEGA on this.”
