UK CHARTS: Red Dead holds the fort

Red Dead Redemption has racked up a third week at the top of the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40, due in no small part to a lack of new entries.

The only new release to hit the Top 10 is EA’s The Sims 3: Ambitions, the second expansion for the current iteration of the PC phenomenon. The pack makes a respectable debut in sixth place.

Other new entries include Nintendos’ Rooms: The Main Building at No.12 and a late entry from Ubisoft’s Pure Football. The sports game makes its All Formats Top 40 debut at No.36 during its second week on sale.

Elsewhere FIFA World Cup pushes UFC 2010 down a place, driven by increasing demand as its namesake tournament approaches.

Beyond this, there was little movement in the Top 10, with Just Dance, Wii Fit Plus, Modern Warfare 2 and Lost Planet 2 all non-movers. Activision racer Blur moves into the Top 10 for the first time, up four places to tenth place.

Here’s the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 10 in full (for the week ending June 5th):

1. Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar)
2. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (EA)
3. UFC 2010 Undisputed (THQ)
4. Just Dance (Ubisoft)
5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
6. The Sims 3: Ambitions (EA)
7. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
8. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
9. Lost Planet 2 (Capcom)
10. Blur (Activision)
