Koch's Deep Silver taps up Hydravision to make console game based on music talent show

French studio signed to make X Factor game

Hugely popular music show The X Factor will be launched as a console game later this year.

A report on our sister site MCV outs publisher Deep Silver – a label of distributor Koch Media – as the firm behind the project.

Deep Silver publishing has confirmed it recently forged a deal with brand owner FremantleMedia and Simon Cowell’s production company SyCo.

French outfit Hydravision will develop the music talent show’s singing game spin-off for 360, PS3 and Wii.

Hydravision’s previous efforts included the Obscure series of thrillers.

The X Factor Video Game is due in Q4 and will be released across a raft of European territories where the show is aired, including UK, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

It’s not Koch’s first big licence signing – MCV revealed two months ago that the publisher was secretly working on a still unannounced Wii and DS Doctor Who game. The developer of that game has not yet been officially named.
