CoD: Black Ops gets new developer?

According to reports from G4, the site that broke many of the early headlines in the Activision-Infinity Ward saga, Raven Software has become the latest developer to be drafted in for work on the Call of Duty series.

G4 claims that Raven, which is currently working on Activision shooter Singularity and whose previous work includes 2009’s Wolfenstein and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was also hard at work on an unannounced stealth-based James Bond title.

However, the 007 game has been put on hold to allow it to begin work on the development of map packs for this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, work on which is well underway at Treyarch.

If true, Raven becomes the fourth developer to add Call of Duty to its current remit alongside Treyarch, Infinity Ward and start-up studio Sledgehammer, which is currently working on the still mysterious ‘action-adventure’ addition to the series scheduled for 2011.

When asked by G4, Activision refused to comment.
