Game industry advocates remain MPs

The UK games industry’s biggest supporters in Parliament held their seats in last night’s election.

Labour’s Tom Watson retained his seat for West Bromwich East, despite suffering a nine per cent dip in support.

Conservative Ed Vaizey remained MP for Wantage with a 9 per cent vote rise, while Lib Dem Don Foster saw the biggest vote increase – returning to his constituency with a 11 per cent rise in support.

All three have been active in their support to games and the industry, and recently answered questions at ELSPA’s Question Time in April.

Other games backers that held their seats includes Tory MP John Whittingdale. However, it wasn’t all good news, anti-games campaigner Keith Vaz has returned as MP for Leicester East.

Following last night’s election, no party has secured an overall majority with Conservatives securing the most seats.
