Microsoft-Bungie relationship unchanged

Xbox 360 and Windows platform holder Microsoft has said in a statement that it’s business as usual as far as its business relationship with Bungie goes following the news that the developer has signed a ten-year deal with Activision.

The new agreement gives Activision exclusive publishing rights to an as-of-yet unnamed new IP that will be released on multiple platforms.

Our partnership with Bungie as a first-party developer for Xbox 360 remains unchanged,” the statement reads. Right now we’re deeply engaged with Bungie on the development of Halo Reach which is poised to be the biggest game of 2010.”

Whether or not this alludes to what MCV suggested earlier – that Bungie could yet make future Halo titles – remains to be seen.
