Konami announces Saw 2

Konami has announced it is working on a sequel to last year’s Saw: The Game, due for release this autumn.

Saw 2 will feature a new storyline set between the second and third films, and follows on from the events of the first game. It will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3.

The publisher promises the game will feature a wide range of new grisly traps and puzzles that are in keeping with the film saga’s trademark setpieces.

The original SAW video game gave horror fans and gamers a new outlet to advance their favourite genre, but left them wanting more,” said Konami’s European marketing and PR director Martin Schneider.

SAW 2 will give it to them but be careful what you wish for. Our successful partnership with Lionsgate allows us to advance the survival horror genre, giving players the most intense look into the SAW universe ever.”
