Michael Hegemann and The Haunted Team take top honours

$1m winners announced in Epic talent hunt

Epic Games’ has awarded over $1 million of cash and goods as its Make Something Unreal design competition comes to a close.

The competition provided young game designers the chance to win a commercial Unreal Engine 3 licence along with $50,000 for designing an Unreal Tournament 3 mod.

The judging process has been intense, with developers having to face four preliminary phases before winning their seat in the grand final.

In the end, mod title The Haunted won the grand prize. Creators Michael Hegemann and The Haunted Team have won $50,000, a full UE3 commercial license, and – right now – the eyes of the industry.
