Milton Keynes, UK outfit integrates teams to 'remain competitive'

Redundancies at DR Studios

UK studio DR Studios has confirmed a small number of redundancies.

Speaking to Develop, the PC developer and studio responsible for the Train2Game learning scheme said it had let four members of staff go yesterday in a bid to remain competitive.

"We have two facets to the company," MD Clive Robert told Develop. "Serious games in the form of Train2Game and games development for the usual multiple platform suspects.

"As part of our development strategy we have more effectively integrated the serious games and games dev resource.

"This gives us more focus on current industry processes as it relates to our training products and also helps us focus our development projects to be more commercial.

"It’s always sad losing good people and in this current climate it can be sometimes be taken out of context.

"DRS are moving forward aggressively and will have a strong year. But we need to stay focused and remain competitive."
