New video gaming event to combine design comp with unique look at industry

SPIN event debuts in Montreal

Consisting of four distinct elements, the SPIN conference with be held in parallel with the sixth Montreal International Game Summit. The event has been conceived to promote rising talent and encourage future recruitment and employment in the industry, while publicising the efforts of developers and other gaming professionals.

A number of industry partners are onboard, including Autodesk, Siggraph, and Téléfilm Canada

As well as providing visitors with portfolio-based networking opportunities, and a behind the scenes look at the game making process, SPIN will play host to a area showcasing non-interactive cinematics, in the form of animations, short films and trailers.

The final element of Spin is the D3D game design competition, which is open to students, graduates and new professionals.

Spin takes place in Montreal from November 13th to 17th. Final details of the venue are to be confirmed.
