Facebook maestro Playfish and ex-Edge editor Robertson providing speaker sessions

New speakers announced for Edinburgh Interactive

Kristian Segerstrale, co-founder of social game developer Playfish, has been announced as a session speaker for the upcoming Edinburgh Interactive Festival.

Segerstrale – whose company has flourished along with the Facebook and social network phenomena – will, of course, be offering more insight/vindication on how social games are creating a new developer zeitgeist.

Now celebrating its seventh year, the event will also see former Edge editor Margaret Robertson provide attendees with new approaches to game design.

Now a games consultant, Robertson will be explaining how epic tales (and the production investment needed to tell them) can often be “expensive, cumbersome and inefficient” processes. She will go on to underline what fans of AAA games really look for and talk on how studios can deliver these in a fast and thrifty manner.

Previously confirmed to offer speaker sessions at the event are EA Sports President Peter Moore and Turbine CEO Jim Crowley. An updated page of the full set of speakers can be found here.

Now in its seventh year, the event will again host recruitment areas, allowing attendees to access to the latest job opportunities in games. The show will open from August 10-16.
