Zeemote launches Zeemote Ready Developers Contest

Zeemote, the firm behind the Zeemote JS1 Bluetooth Mobile Gaming Controller, opened the contest today.

Established and independent publishers and developers have until July 15 to make their submissions. To qualify, they can use the Zeemote Ready SDK to create a new game or modify an existing title for Zeemote use.

The contest is being launched to keep up momentum for Zeemote, which has already established partnerships with handset manufacturers Nokia, Sony Ericsson and RIM, plus game publishers including EA, Gameloft, Glu, and operators such as T-Mobile, Orange, Telcel, Vodafone, and Telefonica Movil.

Ernie Cormier, CEO of Zeemote, said. “This contest empowers our developers to take Zeemote Ready Games to the next level by taking full advantage of the Zeemote JS1’s unique capabilities such as analogue controls or the ability for simultaneous multiplayer gaming.”

Winners will be announced on August 17th, 2009. Prizes are:

· Grand Prize: $7,500 Cash Prize and a shot at game distribution
· 2nd Prize: $2,500 Cash Prize and a shot at game distribution
· All finalists will have their games introduced to partners for a shot at game distribution

Zeemote will kick off the Zeemote Ready Game Developers contest at GDC 2009 with a partner celebration to express gratitude to developer and publishers that have supported Zeemote over the past year.
