GDC 09: Bounce Boing Voyage to be first motion controlled title

Motion control games heading to N-Gage

Perhaps its a case of ‘if you can’t beat ’em join ’em’ – Nokia has taken a leaf out of Nintendo’s book for a new strategy of motion controlled games on N-Gage.

The first game to take advantage of the new functions is an upgraded version 3D game Bounce Boing Voyage, due for release later in spring.

In the new title, the motion-sensors built into N-series devices is used to bounce a ball when moved in a certain direction.

Motion control is currently supported by a range of available Nokia devices including the N79, N82, N85, N95, N95 8GB, N96 and the 6210 Navigator. Most devices coming later this year will feature motion control support.

But the games can also be played with a keypad on non-supported N-Gage compatible devices.
