Call of Duty gets bookies’ nod for Xmas no.1

Paddy Power

has released its odds on the race for the coveted Christmas number one game – and has sensibly backed Activision-Blizzard’s upcoming Call of Duty: World at War for the win with odds of 3/1.

Other favourites include EA pair FIFA 09 and Need for Speed, which command odds of 4/1 and 5/1 respectively. Fellow contenders include Microsoft’s Gears of War 2 and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 at 8/1 and LEGO Batman at 14/1.

As usual, however, some curious entries have made it into the listing. The currently Japan-only Wii release of Resident Evil Zero stands out a little awkwardly, whilst the long odds of 40/1 and 20/1 on Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit respectively has got the MCV office talking.

And whilst Resistance 2 creeps in there with odds of 8/1, the exclusion of LittleBigPlanet is certainly a surprise.

Paddy Power’s current odds (as of Nov 4th 16:00):

Need for Speed Undercover – 5/1
