Elite 4 for consoles?

Though there’s still no suggestion on when Frontier’s Elite 4, which has seemingly been in development for an age, will finally be released, studio boss David Braben has admitted that next-gen console versions may well be on the cards.

We are looking at console, yes,” he told VG247, adding when pressed about the elongated development time: I know, I know, and it becomes a running joke. I’m fully aware of that.

The problem with Elite is that we started a project then stopped it. That’s the problem that’s happened. It’s the sort of game we have to get absolutely right. It’s got to be brilliant.”

Frontier is currently working on next-gen action outing The Outsider and a number of other unannounced projects.
