Intel acquires Project Offset

Engine firm Project Offset has been bought by Intel.

A brief announcement on the firm’s site from Project Offset’s Sam McGrath says: "Today we have some major news to announce. Intel has acquired Offset Software. Yes, you read it correctly! Project Offset is going strong and we are excited about things to come. Stay tuned."

The Offset Engine is designed for next-gen games, although its only licensee announced so far is Red 5 Studios.

Offset had also announced it was developing its own title using its technology. It’s not yet clear what impact the Intel acquisition means for the company or its projects.
